Freedom to Walk in Love

By LynnAnn Huizingh
I don’t know about you, but my life is hectic.

The responsibilities I carry seem heavy and overwhelming much of the time. I keep my eyes forward and press on toward the goal…freedom. Freedom in my time, freedom in my thoughts and emotions, freedom to be who I want to be.

That’s all fine and dandy…until I become aware of a neighbor, or maybe a co-worker who is really going through a very difficult situation. I see her…I hear her. I understand the pain she is experiencing. My heart breaks and I wonder what I can do for her.

Listen to your heart. Listen for the quiet voice of the One who loves us all and He will give you next steps and the strength to walk in love for that person, or situation.

What does it look like to walk in love?

●     It looks like shoveling your elderly neighbor’s driveway and sidewalk

●     It looks like taking a meal to a friend when they aren’t feeling well

●     It looks like listening attentively to your co-worker with a desire to partner well

Those are just a few examples. I’m confident you will think of others as you become aware of the needs around you.
